Adding text to videos or watermarking videos is a common question and most of us have to do it someday. There are different watermarking techniques and ideas.
- Watermarking at the start: This works like a label or cover to the video, which can have a message or information about the video and/or owner. This is generally a slide which will be displayed for few seconds; you may add animation to the same.
- Watermarking throughout: Adding text throughout the duration of video, This can be a small text or logo in corner (bottom right etc) which will let the user know that the video belongs to xyz, this is good strategy to avoid video content from being stolen or misused or reprinted otherwise.
- Watermarking at the end: This is similar to watermarking at the start of the video however here the watermarked slide is at the end of the video. You may add credits to the video here, more like what we see at the end of any movie.
Above are the different strategies which you can use to watermark or add text to videos. To do so you will always require software that can add text to a video. Following are few good or free watermarking tools.
